Other Ways to Help
Make a Difference
There are many ways to contribute to the mission of the Irene Rolo Foundation beyond monetary donations. Whether through volunteering, donating goods, allocating income tax or partnerships, your support makes a difference in the lives of many people. Every gesture counts to promote the inclusion and autonomy of people with disabilities. Join us and help build a more accessible future for everyone!
Any person, who is not declared incapable of doing so by law, can prepare the way in which his assets and burdens (his inheritance) will be distributed after his departure. In fact, if nothing is done, the Civil Code establishes a class of successors (legitimate and legitimate heirs) who will inherit the assets and liabilities of a person, such successors generally being the most direct family (spouse, children, ascendants, siblings, other collaterals up to the fourth degree, descendants of siblings, regardless of the degree of kinship in the collateral line and the State itself).
Without prejudice to the above and in accordance with Portuguese law, it is possible to establish during one's lifetime that, at the time of departure, all or certain assets are assigned to certain persons or entities. The correct way to make this arrangement is through a will.
Including the Irene Rolo Foundation in your will is an act of great generosity.
When you decide to make your will, some doubts and questions may arise.
Carla Pires is available to answer your questions and provide all the information on how you can include the Irene Rolo Foundation in your will. You can contact her by phone (919408575) or by email (carlapires.ca@fir.pt).
What is this donation about?
This donation is related to provisional suspension processes, where compliance with an imposition proposed by the court is required, implying a monetary contribution (in crimes considered less relevant).
In what situations can a social institution be supported?
In proceedings with provisional suspension and if the legal requirements are met with the agreement of the parties, the following rule of conduct may be imposed on the accused: “Hand over a certain amount to the State or private social solidarity institutions or provide a service of public interest”.
There are two situations in which the FIR can benefit from funds in this context:
- According to article 51, § 1, paragraph C, of ??the Penal Code or under the terms of article 281, § 2, paragraph C, of ??the Penal Code, when the Judge decides to suspend the execution of the sentence, the defendant may donate an amount to a social institution or to the state (dealt with by the Superior Council of the Judiciary);
- According to article 281, § 2, item C, of ??the Penal Code, donation is the condition that the defendant must fulfill if he wants to suspend the process. This is a proposal from the Public Prosecutor's Office to be approved by the respective Judge (handled by the Superior Council of the Public Prosecutor's Office).
Note: If either of the cases has occurred, please inform the court of your choice.?These donations can be suggested by the defendants or by the Judge.

Contribute to Income Tax, without spending anything!
When filling out your Income Tax return, you can donate 0.5% to an IPSS. Just put an X (cross) in field 11 and enter CPF 501426892.
There is no additional cost, considering that the amount has already been paid and does not interfere with the settlement. In fact, this is the only time when a citizen can decide exactly where he wants to channel his taxes.
A very important contribution to the Irene Rolo Foundation to continue its mission.
There are several ways for companies to get involved: by becoming a patron, supporting a specific project, or providing pro-bono services.
Being a patron or funder of the Irene Rolo Foundation has benefits, namely, through the presence of the brand in promotional materials, with the logo on web pages and in certain communication materials for activities. Furthermore: the amount donated to the Foundation is deductible for IRC purposes (article 62 of the Tax Benefits Statute, approved by Decree-Law No. 215/89, of 1 July).
In addition to these aspects, there are other proven benefits for the company, namely the attitude of social responsibility towards all stakeholders.
