The Irene Rolo Foundation will promote, in partnership with the Tavira Plaza Shopping Centre, a photo exhibition, open to the public, from June 21 to July 22, in the aforementioned shopping center. The Exhibition is entitled "Beyond the barriers" and the authors of the photos are: Ana Gouveia and Mário Rui Gouveia. The exhibition celebrates the strength, resilience and passion of the Irene Rolo Foundation's adapted sports athletes. We intend to demonstrate to the community that disability is not disabling, nor impeding participation in human activities, even the most physically and technically demanding. We promote inclusion and equality, showing that sport is for everyone, regardless of their abilities. The 12 photos portray the modalities promoted by the Irene Rolo Foundation, within the scope of the Center for Activities and Training for Inclusion (CACI), which we now indicate: Boccia; Adapted handball; Adapted swimming; Adaptation to the aquatic environment; Archery; Athletics; Hike; Dance; Adapted Physical Activity; Polybat; Boxing and Acrobatic Gymnastics. The promotion of these activities takes place in partnership with local entities/clubs, namely the Municipality of Tavira, the Tavira Sailing Club, Tavira Natação Clube and the Southern Association of Combat Sports. Sport is fundamental for physical and emotional well-being, in addition to being a tool that facilitates the social inclusion of people with disabilities.
