Main historical landmarks
1982 (15/Apr)
Public deed for the creation of the Irene Rolo Foundation, by donation from Irene Dulce da Palma Arez Rolo.
1986
Beginning of the Irene Rolo Foundation's activities, in the donor's country house, with training for people with disabilities, through training programs financed by the European Social Fund.
1993 (4/Jul)
Inauguration of the main building, which allowed the development of the following social responses: Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Center, Occupational Activities and Early Intervention Center.
1994 (Dec)
Opening of the Lar Residencial social response, with the completion of adaptation works in the donor's former residence.
2001
Creation of the New Projects Unit, having developed initiatives over the years in partnership with local, national and transnational entities.
2002
Opening of the Special Education School that operated for 7 years.
2010 (8/Jun)
Attribution, by the President of the Republic, of the title of honorary member of the Order of Merit.
2015
Opening of Emergency Social Accommodation, having operated for 2 years.
2017 (Jan 18)
Approval of the new FIR statutes, allowing greater openness of the entity to the community, with the creation of new corporate bodies, such as the Board of Trustees
2021 (June 24)
Awarding, by the Municipality of Tavira, of the silver municipal medal of merit
2024 (1/Jul)
Opening of the Autonomization and Inclusion Residence
