Early Intervention
Essential support for inclusive development
Target Population
Children aged between 0 and 6 years and their families, who present changes in body functions and/or structures that limit their participation in routines and/or activities of daily living; with a serious risk of developmental delay.
Objectives
To develop programs that are appropriate to the specific needs of each child and family, with a view to promoting their development. To empower families to strengthen their skills as caregivers and thus become facilitators in the development process of each child.
Support Modalities
- Support in the child's natural environment;
- Weekly and bi-weekly support in outpatient settings.
Team Constitution
This team is an integral part of the Local Intervention Team (ELI) - Tavira, which covers the municipalities of Tavira, Vila Real de Santo António, Castro Marim and Alcoutim. The technicians under the responsibility of the FIR are the following:
- Social Service Technique (35h)
- Psychologist (17.5h)
- Occupational therapist (30h)
- Speech therapist (24h)
